“I support Transit talk because without talking we will just keep doing what’s easy.  Drive Cars.

I know all of my friends enjoy walking, meeting new people, living a fit lifestyle and having a small environmental footprint.  Some of them even go to the gym, take spin classes and walk on treadmills.  Yet, they still drive to work rather than walk or bike.

Everyone knows riding in the car by yourself costs us too much time in traffic, gas money, tax money, in car maintenance, and pollutes the environment.  And, unless you’re on the phone, riding in the car by yourself is lonely.  We should live and commute together.  I like walking down the street and randomly bumping into people, or sitting on a metro and chatting with a stranger, and smelling what nature’s got to offer while riding my bike home.

But right now, using our cars is just more convenient.  I’m lucky enough to live in Carytown and walk everywhere I need to go on the weekends.  Unfortunately, sometimes there are not better options. Hopefully, if we talk enough we can start living together and stop driving in our expensive, lonely cars.

Talk to me.”
