“I support Transit Talk because citizens need to know more about what is going on with public transportation in the Richmond Region. Citizens need to understand why we don’t have a bus line to the airport or why we don’t have a bus line to some of the major job sites in the region. I hope if they better understand the system, they will speak up to improve it.
I live in Hanover but I am a citizen of the region. I lose a lot of time sitting in traffic on I95 when I go to Richmond, there is not a time of day anymore that the traffic is not heavy or snarled on 95. We need more comprehensive transit system in the region.
We need a more comprehensive system that will help add more jobs. I read a factoid recently that for every $1 invested in a public transportation project, $4 to $9 is generate in local economic activity. We need this kind of economic growth in this region.
The older I get the more I want other options to get to where I need to go.”
